The project was first developed in the early 1990's, when Sanchez mixed synthesizer with a traditional song from the Solomon Islands. Their sound has been described as an “ethno-introspective ambient world music” or "ethnic electronica," innovatively fusing traditional ethnic musics with state-of-the-art rhythms.

2008 – Deep Brasil

The first, eponymous Deep Forest’s record, released in 1992, focused on african cultures and has been an almost immediate success. “Boheme”, the second album, was inspired by the Eastern Europe positioning them in the french and international music scene. Their most recent album, Deep Brasil, was released in 2008.
