Percussive instruments are of the worlds oldest instruments and have been found to produce many beneficial effects on the mind and body. Rhythm is part of our nature and we first encounter this experience in hearing our mothers heart beat in the womb. Recent research has proven that drumming boosts the immune system and increases feelings of well being and releases tensions. Shamans around the world also have used drumming to focus the mind to achieve higher states of consciousness. Whether in a group or solo, drumming is a great way for you to re-connect with the rhythms of life and to find "the flow" that connects you with the universe.
